Our Story
I have owned and operated the Royal Inns Care Homes in Lake Forest since 1986.
This experience has provided the unique opportunity to witness and participate in the care needs of our elderly residents from just about every imaginable situation and circumstance. I haven’t seen it all, but probably more than most.
Residents have come from their homes, one-on-one situations, massive independent living facilities, small acute care units, hospitals, and every sized skilled nursing facility that exists. Even a woman who drove her car to come move in. It was not the best park job, but she made it!
Starting as a care provider at the Royal Inn, my wife Nanci and I taught our three daughters how to provide excellent care to the elderly residents in our homes. Hannah, my youngest daughter, has been a care provider/manager since 2016.
My son Garrett has worked as a care provider/administrator just slightly less time than his sister. This unique experience helps Hannah, Garrett, and myself identify and understand the important care needs of your elderly loved one. Familiarity with their needs helps us to pinpoint the care best available for them.
Together we promise to help you find the best care options possible for you or your loved one.

Navigating Care Can Be Overwhelming
Insurance, Medicare, hospice, doctors, nurses, physical therapy, medications, oxygen, incontinence care, dementia support, budgeting, location, special diets, diabetes…
These are just a few of the many factors that may need to be considered when planning care for a loved one.
It can be dizzying, confusing, and frustrating to manage these needs—especially when you don’t know which facilities are equipped to handle them all. That’s where we come in.
By combining your knowledge of your loved one’s unique needs with our expertise in care planning and placement, we work together to find the best available option—one that meets both medical and personal requirements with compassion and professionalism.

Real Recommendations
We’re not like others who recommend places they’ve never even seen. They most likely never worked in a Residential Facility or even been a care provider. We actually visit each home ourselves. We get how important this decision is—it’s not just about finding a place, it’s about finding the right place. That’s why we don’t just go off brochures or websites. “We personally visit each home, meet with the management, and take the time to understand what they offer.” When we recommend a home, it’s because we’ve seen it firsthand. Combined with our decades of hands-on experience in senior care, we ensure the best possible recommendations for you and your loved ones.
